Miley the husky dog’s incredible recovery after being found dying on a pile of trash

It was a horrific site for one animal rescuer when he received reports of a white dog which had been living on a pile of trash in Los Angeles, California, for months.

Animal hero Eldad Hagar, who founded Hope for Paws with his wife Audrey, approached the trash heap and was shocked by what he saw.

Miley was covered in mange, open sores with hardly any fur and was close to death. She barely lifted her head to eat the food he had brought for her.

He sat with her long enough so she would allow him to put a leash on her and then gently led her to his car.

“She actually like, jumped into my car. She was so ready to be rescued,” Eldad said in the footage released on YouTube.

After arriving at the veterinary clinic she was given regular medicated baths and allowed to rest. Eldad said she had completely shut down.

“Many people don’t realize how exhausting it is to be a stray dog,” Eldad added. “You’re always on alert because you don’t know who is gonna come behind you or who is gonna attack you or who is going to be not kind to you.”

Miley did seem to brighten when she was put with a chihuahua who was rescued from a drain pipe and was terrified of everything. She suddenly had a purpose bringing this little pooch out of his shell and their friendship blossomed.

As she recovered from mange, parasites, bacterial infections and malnutrition she started to regain her fur and grew back the most beautiful white coat.

Just four months after she was rescued she was adopted.

“To see Miley transforming from that dog who was dying on a pile of trash, and now living in one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen in my life is so amazing to me. It was very rewarding to see her so happy,” Eldad told the Huffington Post.

“She is just getting more and more beautiful every time I see her,” he added.

Such a stunning dog, it’s heartbreaking to think of her left to die on that sickly pile of trash, broken physically and mentally.

Please share to pay tribute to all the amazing animal rescuers out there who give these beautiful animals a second chance.
