It’s amazing the things some people will do for their dogs. As pets get older sometimes they lose some of their ability to get around, but some creative dog owners will make sure they still get to live life to the fullest.
That was the case for one family, who made a big addition to their home all for an old dog.
The inspiring story comes from Alex Dunhom, who shared it on the Dogspotting Facebook group. In 2018, her neighbors put up what appeared to be a big wheelchair ramp on their front lawn… although it didn’t seem to be very practical.
“For weeks my Dad didn’t understand why our neighbors would build a wheelchair ramp into the lawn instead of the driveway,” Alex wrote.
After weeks of confusion, they finally got an answer.
It turns out the ramp was not for a wheelchair, but for their dog Nestle, who was old and couldn’t walk up stairs anymore.
This way, she could still enjoy the backyard and have no trouble getting back inside.
Upon realizing the truth, the neighbors were inspired.
“Dad has replaced his confusion with admiration for these 10/10 owners and their very good dog,” Alex wrote.
She added that she got in touch with the neighbors and got to meet the dog, who she called a “good girl.”
It just goes to show how far some people will go to look after their dogs. Share this heartwarming story!
