It’s always fun to take your pets out of the house and into the world, to see new places and try new things. You never know how they’ll react to new experiences.
And sometimes, they display a lot of mixed emotions—as was the case for one cat, whose hilarious reactions to going to the beach for the first time are going viral.
Pumpkin is an orange rescue cat. His owners fostered him as part of a litter, but decided to keep Pumpkin and his brother Moustachio.
“Pumpkin was so captivating from the beginning,” his owners told Bored Panda. “He is so curious, charming, adventurous and so very intuitive. He loves all other animals and they love him too. He seems to be so connected to all living things.”
Pumkin has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which affects part of the brain that controls his motor skills, which affects his coordination and and makes him clumsy, but that hasn’t kept him from living his best life.
Pumpkin especially likes to explore, and his owners take him on adventures. And recently, they decided to take him to the beach for the first time ever.
Pumpkin seemed to enjoy himself a lot, but he was hit by an unexpected unpleasantness that many beachgoers dread: the wind.
“He actually really loved the beach but we soon found out he didn’t love the wind,” his owner Tia told The Dodo.
And Pumpkin made his dissatisfaction known with a series of hilarious faces:
“The faces he was making, we’d never seen anything like it before, so we were taking pictures and videos,” Tia said.
Nobody likes wind blowing in their face at the beach, so it’s hard not to relate.
Pumpkin definitely shows a wide range of emotions—and the funniest thing is that they all come from one five-second video.
The photos were shared on Pumpkin’s new Facebook and Instagram pages, where they quickly went viral.
“We’re overwhelmed with all of the love for Pumpkin,” his owner told Bored Panda. “It’s crazy how fast his pictures went viral. Fans have made so many memes, it seems his face is very relatable!”
Luckily, Pumpkin’s battle with the wind didn’t deter him: his owners say he’s made many return trips to the beach and fully enjoyed himself.
