It was an act of kindness that one man didn’t hesitate to carry out, without anyone watching, or so he thought.
The municipal worker from Turkey was caught on CCTV camera stopping to help a cold, stray dog in the snow.
Stopping to help the poor shivering creature huddled on the cold floor in the snow, the man gave him some food.
He then took his own coat off and wrapped it around the dog to keep him warm, leaving himself cold and exposed in the snow.
His random act of kindness was spotted by a security worker who was so impressed he posted the clip online.
The video went viral and community leaders wanted to track the man down to thank him for his kindness.
He was identified as Bulent Kalpakcioglu, a municipal worker in Giresun.
“If I did not give my jacket, it would have eaten at my conscience,” Bulent told The Dodo. “While we are sitting warm at home, they are outside in the cold.”
The animal hero was even rewarded with a special certificate by the city’s mayor who told him: “With this action, he gave a lesson in humanity.
“Animals are our friends. We love people, we love our city, we love all living things that are an integral part of us and our city,” Giresun’s mayor Kerim Aksu added.
This lesson in love and humanity needs to be seen by everyone. Please share.
