Sometimes dogs get stuck in some difficult places, and need a little help to get free. Thankfully, local emergency responders are always there to help a dog in need.
That was the case recently, as a fire department saved a stray dog trapped at the bottom of a reservoir.
According to 12 News, the Port Arthur Fire Department, in Port Arthur, Texas, responded to a call on Tuesday about a dog who was stuck at the bottom of an empty concrete reservoir at the city’s water treatment plant.
The dog was stuck 20 feet below. It isn’t clear how he got down there, but the firefighters quickly got to work getting him free.
One of the crew climbed down a ladder and carried the dog all the way up, finally getting him to safety.
Photos show the concerned firefighters all waiting for him at the top.
The Port Arthur city government shared news of the rescue and called it an “awww moment.”
As if the rescue wasn’t sweet enough, there’s extra good news: after being saved by the firefighters, the dog was adopted by a staff member from the water treatment facility, according to 12 News.
We’re so glad this dog is safe, and has a loving new home! Thank you to everyone who saved him!
