Dream job for all cat lovers: Get paid to take care of cats on glorious Greek island

Calling all cat lovers! How does securing your dream job and taking over the running of a cat sanctuary complete with over 50 cats sound?

Well, it’s now a possibility. No, seriously.

You have the chance to take over a cat house – and stay for free – on a Greek holiday island described as “paradise.”

Danish cat lover Joan Bowell runs a cat sanctuary on the beautiful Greek island of Syros, but is now looking for someone to take over her cat home and look after 55 cats, as per the job advert she posted on Facebook.

In addition to taking care of 55 cats, the job includes free accommodation in a dream house overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Calling all cat lovers

To be eligible for this dream existence, first and foremost you have to be a cat lover. You also need to be able to feed and medicate them when needed, though the hours are described as part-time. In return, you get to live in a fully paid for (including water and electricity) house with its own garden overlooking the Aegean Sea, plus a salary!

Joan would like to see someone able to commit at least six months to this position.

All applicants need to have “a heart of gold” and give “heaps of love and attention” to the cats. She adds: “You’ll never feel lonely in the company of the cats and you’ll be expected to live with a small handful of cats in your house.”
