Woman panics when she sees tiny eyes staring at her in bathroom

For most of us, the bathroom is a peaceful place to unwind — until you realize you’re sharing it with someone unexpected!

Cathy, from Florida, discovered this firsthand when she spotted a pair of little eyes staring up at her from the sink.

First, she screamed but then she realized she wasn’t exactly facing a terrifying monster. Instead, it was something much smaller — and much cuter!

In August 2024, Cathy and her husband, Brian, had an experience they’ll never forget when they discovered a tiny, uninvited guest had moved into their bathroom sink.

This little critter had found his way in through a pipe, and he’d made himself quite at home in the sink’s overflow hole.

It was Cathy who first discovered the stowaway. Brian recalls the moment:

“My wife screamed when she first saw the head poking through the overflow hole,” he told The Dodo. “We think he entered our plumbing from a toilet vent on our roof, which is common in Florida.”

And what exactly had settled in their sink? A frog!

And not just any frog — this little hopper, who quickly became known as “Sinkfrog,” wasn’t just passing through; he popped up in the overflow hole several times a week, getting comfy in his new digs.

Although Brian and Cathy tried to gently persuade Sinkfrog to find a new spot outside, the little guy clearly had other plans.

Brian and Cathy, animal lovers at heart, shared a video of their unexpected guest on TikTok, and Sinkfrog quickly became a hit.

“We needed to clear the sink since it was a guest bathroom and our adult son was coming for a visit,” Brian explained. “But my wife is an animal lover of all kinds and didn’t want to hurt Sinkfrog.”

After several weeks of sharing their bathroom with Sinkfrog, the little amphibian finally revealed himself completely, letting the couple get a good look at him.

Brian and Cathy soon identified him as a Cuban tree frog, a species considered invasive in Florida. Cuban tree frogs are known for leaving messy surprises around homes and sometimes even causing issues for native wildlife. So, simply releasing Sinkfrog outside wasn’t an option.

“We had to either euthanize or keep Sinkfrog,” Brian explained, and with no hesitation, the couple chose the kinder option. T

hey bought a large terrarium and officially invited Sinkfrog to stay with them. Now, instead of peeking up from the sink, Sinkfrog has his own little kingdom to roam, and his bond with Brian and Cathy has blossomed into a special friendship.

Reflecting on the adventure, Brian chuckled, “I still look into that hole every time I go into that bathroom, looking for a little head. Then I remember Sinkfrog is living large in his new terrarium.”

With such a lovable twist, it’s no surprise Sinkfrog has won hearts across social media. If you’re charmed by this adorable tale of a frog finding his forever home, be sure to share it with friends who could use a smile today!
