Toli the service dog has spent his life helping his best friend and owner Michael Cantu.
“He’s been with me every step of the way since I got him,” Michael told The Dodo .
Toli helps Michael open doors, turn on and off the lights, pick up things – all the every day issues that Michael cannot do himself.
So when Toli’s birthday came around, Michael wanted to do something special for his four-legged friend.
When Toli turned four years old, Michael wanted to make sure his beloved dog enjoyed an extra special day.
Instead of buying him a gift he might not like, he let him choose his own gift.
Michael took him to their local pet store and straight to the toy aisle so he could pick his own gift. It’s so wonderful to see Toli so happy and excited.
“This has kinda become a tradition on his birthday. He loves taking naps and cuddling with his toys.” Michael told The Dodo
So what did Toli choose for a present?
A small rabbit toy!
“That rabbit, who is now named Chungus, he takes with him everywhere,” Michael told The Dodo .
