Sometimes animals come into our lives when we least expect them. That was the case for one couple, who came across a new friend by chance… but knew right away that they could never part.
Married couple Céline and Daniel, who live in France, are both avid cyclists and were out riding together in the countryside in the summer of 2017. They were all alone on a quiet road… but suddenly, they heard a mysterious noise.
The tracked the noise to the side of the road, and stopped to investigate.
“At first, we thought it was some kind of bird so we stopped and tried to see where the noise was coming from,” Céline recalled to Love Meow.
“And there she was, a frightened little kitten, crying.”
It was a little calico kitten, all on its own. The couple held the kitten and quickly gained its trust.
Soon, it became clear that the kitten was attached to the couple… and wasn’t going to let go.
“She would not leave me. She kept climbing on me (with her claws) and crying,” Céline said. “At that point, we knew we had to try to get her back home.”
Getting her home was difficult, as they were on their bicycles, but they went back to get their car and returned for the kitten.
“As soon as I got out of the car and called her, she got out of her hiding spot in the ferns and came running towards me,” Céline told Love Meow.
They named the kitten Mini Kitty. She quickly made herself at home, and loves to cuddle with everyone, including their dogs.
“She is a lovely cat, very friendly and playful,” Céline said. “As soon as she hears us getting up, she runs up the stairs to greet us by purring and head butting us.”
