It’s truly unbelievable how cruel some people can be to animals, but thankfully, there are also everyday heroes who step up to help our furry friends.
That was the case recently, after a delivery driver went above-and-beyond to help a poor cat who was badly mistreated by her owners.
According to KCCI, a young black cat was thrown out of a car window last month in Des Moines, Iowa.
The shocking sight was thankfully witnessed by an Amazon delivery driver, who went out of his way to help the poor cat.
The driver pulled the truck over, and got the cat to run into his arms. The anonymous hero then took the cat to Iowa Pet Foods and Seascapes, a local pet supply store, who took the cat in.
“He was kind enough to stop and save it, and bring it to us,” the store wrote, explaining that the cat was in okay shape physically and was “eating like a pig.”
It isn’t known who threw the cat away, or the circumstances around her abandonment, but store owner Lori Sandahl was angered to hear that anyone could treat an animal so poorly.
Still, the important thing is that the cat is now in good hands.
“She’s just full of life, purring from the moment she came in the front door,” she told KCCI. “So, she knows she’s in a safe place.”
The cat, who doesn’t yet have a name, went for a checkup last week, and will be put up for adoption after a quarantine period.
Hopefully, after going through so much, this beautiful cat will find the loving home she deserves, and soon.
“She’s ready for lap time and cuddle time,” Lori said.
We’re so glad this beautiful cat is safe and sound after experiencing such cruelty. Thank you to this delivery driver for going above and beyond to help this poor cat.
