Because of the cornavirus pandemic, everyone is staying self-isolating in their homes. It’s not ideal, but on the plus side it’s given people some time to work on some creative home projects.
That was the case for one man, who made some thoughtful home improvements for his pet in a very unique construction project.
Many of us have dogs and cats who love to stare out the window, many of them have a favorite spot. But since we all want what we can’t have, a cat named Ellie became particularly obsessed with the one window completely out of reach, right above the staircase.
Her owner Andrew Brewer caught on to his cat’s obsession. “I could tell she wanted to be at it so bad,” he told The Dodo.
So he decided to help make his dreams come true… and built a custom bridge just so Ellie could reach it:
Andrew says he needed a project to occupy some of his time during lockdown, and thought it would be a nice chance to help his cat.
“The build itself wasn’t difficult at all,” Andrew said. “I had the idea in my head, on what I wanted it to look like, and just went with it.”
He posted the story on Reddit, and people loved the idea.
“This is super cool, I love projects like this and I’m sure the cats do too,” one person wrote.
“That’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen for a cat,” another wrote. “She is so lucky.”
Andrew was happy to do it, and is glad to see his friend enjoying her new window spot so much.
“Every time I see her in the window it makes me smile,” he told The Dodo. “It makes me happy knowing she can finally reach that window she’s always wanted to reach.”
“It was absolutely worth the effort. Pets are part of the family.”
We love this idea! It’s amazing the things people will do for their pets. Share this adorable story!
