Sometimes life is unexplainably ruthless. A little brown chihuahua puppy was only two days old when his mother was hit by a car.
The puppy, named Bobby, was much too small to take care of himself. He needed the warmth and care that only a mother can give.
Bobby’s owners didn’t know what to do with him. So they turned him over to the Michigan Humane Society, an organization that helps animals in need.
The staff at the Humane Society had an idea. They had a cat who recently had a litter of kittens, and they decided to show Bobby to the mama cat.
Maybe she would raise him as her own? He was the same size as her kittens.
They gave it a try and put Bobby with the kittens. Then they crossed their fingers and waited to see if the cat would accept him.
And she did.
She saw little Bobby and immediately knew that he needed her. So, she took care of him just like he was one of her own.
