Guy Fieri and son Ryder pay tribute to late family dog Roxy: “She lived a great life”

No matter who you are, saying goodbye to a family pet can be one of the most difficult things in the world.

Recently, celebrity restaurateur Guy Fieri and his son Ryder bid an emotional goodbye to their beloved family dog, Roxy — see their touching tributes:

Fieri, the larger-than-life personality known for hosting Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and other Food Network shows, recently said goodbye to a beloved member of the family.

Fieri, 56, announced on social media that his family dog Roxy had passed away.

“She lived a great life with our family,” Guy wrote in his Instagram stories. “We are going to miss her.”

According to old social media posts, Roxy had been part of the Fieri family since 2012.

He also said that his 18-year-old son Ryder flew home from college, a five hour trip, just to be there and say goodbye to his beloved mastiff.

Guy wrote that he was “so proud” of his son for going the extra mile to be there for his dog.

Ryder had grown up with Roxy since childhood, which always makes these goodbyes even harder. In his own Instagram post, Ryder shared an old photo of him as a boy cuddling up with Roxy.

“R.I.P. to my best friend,” he wrote. “Love you Rox.”

It’s the second time in less than two years the Fieri family has had to say goodbye to a dog. In January 2023, Guy announced that his German Shepherd Cowboy had passed away.

“Today is the saddest day in the Fieri family,” Guy wrote at the time. “He was one a kind and brought so much love and energy to our family.”

While it’s always hard to say goodbye to a beloved pet, Guy still has plenty of furry friends at home. He has two other dogs, a French bulldog named Cash and a Chihuahua named Smokey, who he called his “right-hand man.”

According to CelebrityPets, Fieri also owns a ranch in Santa Rosa, California, which is home to a variety of animals, from farm animals like goats, pigs and chickens, to more exotic pets like llamas, peacocks, and a giant tortoise named Pops.

Rest in peace to sweet Roxy — it’s clear you were loved by Guy Fieri and his family, and will be missed 😢💔
