The How I Met Your Mother star announced on Instagram yesterday that he and his husband David Burtka welcomed a new puppy, “Bianca Burtka-Harris.”

A series of photos show the pup exploring her new home, digging in the backyard, playing in the pool and bonding with the family.

“She is brimming with love, and chewing up everything,” the Emmy- and Tony-winning star wrote. “We’re obsessed.”

The new pup arrives weeks after Neil Patrick Harris and his family mourned the sudden loss of their 4-year-old golden retriever Ella, who died in a tragic accident in July.

In his newsletter, Harris wrote that while he and Burtka were visiting friends in New Hampshire and their kids were at camp, a family friend was watching the dogs when tragedy struck. A tree branch apparently got stuck in Ella’s collar, wrapping around her neck and strangling her.

Harris was devastated, calling it “the freakest of accidents” and a “massive loss.”

“I don’t know how to handle it,” he wrote in the newsletter. “Ella was still young and full of life who loved to play ball and jump in the pool.”

“She was barely four years old. She was absolutely brimming with life. We’ve had dogs die before, but they were old and blind and incontinent, so for them it was only a matter of time. Sad, yes, but inevitable. But Ella was so young.”

The family have three other dogs at home: a rescue terrier mix named Gidget, a Chihuahua—French Bulldog mix named Spike, and a French Bulldog named Chunk, according to Celebrity Pets.

Welcome to your new home, Bianca! We’re glad Neil Patrick Harris and his family have a new addition to the family!
