Even before Finn was born Brutus the boxer was a much-loved member of the Knudtson family.
Brutus the 2-year-old dog was adopted into their home when Paige found out she was pregnant with Finn.
When Finn was born he had heart complications and had to undergo numerous procedures until he could have open-heart surgery.
After a seven-week hospital stay their little boy was finally allowed to return home and from the moment he was introduced to the family dog, Brutus became his patient protector and trusted friend.
“Brutus is just a big teddy bear,” Paige told The Dodo. “He loves attention and loves to snuggle with people.”
These two adorable friends spend every moment together and Brutus wants to sit where Finn is, following him from room to room until he settles.
“If Finn is sick, Brutus knows it and just stays right by Finn’s side or lays his head on Finn’s chest,” Paige says.
And when it comes to nighttime the feelings don’t change, these two have to be together. Mom Paige ended up putting Brutus’ bed in Finn’s room.
When Finn transitioned from a crib to a toddler bed Brutus started crawling in each night which Paige said was as if he was helping to stop Finn fall out.
In an adorable video captured on baby cam a sleepy Finn is seen crawling out of bed and trying to get comfy next to his four-legged friend.
As he wriggles, changes position, has a drink, moves his blanket around, his dog stays absolutely still to accommodate him.
It’s the most adorable sight I’ve seen in a long time, see for yourself in the clip below.
I love this sweet gentle dog and the relationship these two have.
