Many people have experienced the hassle of trying to give their pets a bath. Not all animals appreciate bathtime the way humans do, and it can be hard getting a reluctant dog to stay still while you scrub them down.
But then there’s one dog who hates baths when it’s his own bathtime, yet loves hopping in the tub when his favorite humans are in there.
Meet Aeida, an English staffy from Melbourne, Australia.
Aeida is best friends with a neighbor dog from next door, Cashew.
The dogs are so inseparable that their owners set up doggie doors so they could enter each other’s homes any time they wanted.
But Aieda isn’t just close with Cashew, she’s also close with her family… especially the youngest members.
“Aeida is very friendly and loving,” Nicole Ackehurst, Aeida’s owner, told The Dodo. “She really just loves everyone and anything — especially our neighbors’ children.”
One night, Aeida disappeared, apparently for a playdate with Cashew… but her owners soon found out that she was actually playing with the kids… inside their bathtub!
Her owners laughed—the kicker was that Aeida normally hates baths when she actually has to take one at home.
But apparently, she’s willing as long as the neighbor kids are there, too. After that first time, it’s become a regular routine.
“She will join them at bath time at every chance she gets,” Nicole said.
It’s a cute way for this dog to agree to bathtime—and a sign of the close bond formed between these neighbors and their dogs.
“I’m pretty sure our neighbors love having her over, just as we love having Cashew come over too,” Nicole told The Dodo.
“Aeida and Cashew are great friends, and have such a strong bond. They’re both considered great parts of our families.”
