It’s unbelievable how cruel some people can be to dogs. A few months ago, a shelter was shocked after a man cruelly threw a dog over a fence into their yard.
But now, there has been an uplifting update to the story…
On July 17, the Humane Society of Atlantic County, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, was shocked after surveillance footage showed a man lift up a dog and toss it over their fence:
It’s an upsetting clip to watch, as the dog lands on her side with a painful thud. Making things even more disturbing, the shelter wrote that it was the fourth time this same man has abandoned a dog like this. They encouraged anyone about the man to come forward.
The dog, now named Snookie, was taken in by HSAC. They wrote that she had a “very distinct scarring” on her back, possibly indicating some previous abuse or neglect:
It was a heartbreaking story — but months later, there has been an inspiring update.
On September 20, the Humane Society revealed that Snookie has been adopted by a family in Texas! They shared a video of the sweet dog living her best life, playing in the backyard with her doggy sibling. The two dogs even have their very own pool!
“We are thrilled that Snookie has such an amazing life and loving family now,” the Humane Society of Atlantic County wrote.
In other good news, HSAC mentioned in a comment that the man who abandoned Snookie was identified and charges were filed. People were thrilled to hear that Snookie came out on top with an amazing new family after her cruel abandonment.
“It’s nice when the dog is living a better life than the abuser!” one person commented.
“it is wonderful seeing happy news. Wow what a great home. So well deserved. Happy tears right here,” another wrote.
No dog deserves to be tossed over a fence like that, but we’re glad everything worked out for Snookie in the end and she has an amazing new home!
