Foster dog saved from shelter kill list loves nothing more than being tucked into her own bed

Fostering is an amazing way to change a dog’s life. It gives these homeless animals a chance to get out of the shelter and experience the joys of a real home.

One foster’s heartwarming videos show how much her dog appreciates the little things ever since she rescued her from the kill list — especially getting tucked into her cozy bed.

A few months ago, a woman under the TikTok username @dogbowlchallenge took in a senior shelter dog named Amy as a foster. According to a video, she and her husband agreed to take the dog in when they saw Amy on a shelter’s euthanasia list.

Little is known about Amy’s past: she was found as a stray with a collar on, but no one came to claim her during her time at the shelter. But the foster described Amy as a “sweet, funny” girl who loves car rides.

As Amy adjusts to her foster home, there is one thing she loves most of all: getting tucked in for bed.

Having our own cozy bed is something a lot of us take for granted, but it’s a luxury many shelter dogs go without. Not every shelter can afford nice beds for all their animals, and most kennels aren’t very well-furnished, so many shelter dogs love having their own bed for the first time.

The foster says that Amy “waits by her bed every night for someone to tuck her in.” She is happy to oblige her furry friend, and says tucking Amy in has “quickly become a favorite evening routine.”

The foster wrote that Amy also likes to sleep with “her babies,” her beloved stuffed animals.

It’s an adorable and heartwarming thing to see, and many people commented how much they loved the video.

“That’s so sweet,” one person commented. “We need more fosters that are just as wonderful as you.”

“We have had one of our rescues 6 yrs. I still cover her up every night. I just have to remind her she is home,” another wrote.
