When Tania Cappelluti was on her way to a yoga retreat in Costa Rica and saw a poor dog lying on the road she could not pass by without stopping.
Not surprisingly Tania is one of the founders of Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue, an organization dedicated to the rescue of abandoned animals.
When she got out of the car she tried to give the dog some water, but the dog was too shy and left without drinking any.
Tania decided she wasn’t going to give up on this dog so returned the next day to try and help her again.
Tania returned with two other friends, Olivia and Blendan, to find the dog.
Thankfully they did, just in time, as the dog collapsed in front of them. She was dehydrated and covered in fleas.
Tania and her friends gave her water and food, but still the poor animal could barely stand.
The three animal heroes took the dog, they had named Gaia, to a care center and temporary home to give her the treatment she needed.
All efforts were rewarded. Gaia recovered and finally… she got the loving home she needed so much!
Now Gaia lives happily in a house with her French mom and has already learned to give her a high five.
It breaks my heart that animals like Gaia have to go through so much suffering, but I’m thankful for these organizations who do all they can to help as many desperate animals as possible. They deserve all our recognition!
