It’s always shocking the cruel things people will do to their dogs — and in many cases it’s a miracle that these dogs survive such abuse.
That was the case recently, after one dog was suddenly thrown off a balcony by her owner. But amazingly, the dog has landed on her feet.
On December 14, police officers and sheriff’s deputies in Daytona Beach responded to a call about a suicidal woman at a nearby motel, who had reportedly attacked a made and was threatening to jump over the railing, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
The woman was 35-year-old Allison Murphy, who locked herself in her room when the police arrived. But the situation took a horrific turn when Murphy emerged from her room with her German Shepherd — and suddenly tossed her over the second-story railing.
Horrified, the officers quickly pinned down and arrested the woman Murphy was taken into custody… and thankfully, her dog survived the fall.
The dog landed on her feet, and a crowd of bystanders helped corral her in, according to the police report.
She was rushed to Atlantic Animal Hospital in Port Orange, and despite the significant fall, she did not have any serious injuries.
Vets did find a sewing needle lodged in her thigh, and successfully removed it before transferring her to animal services.
The dog did not have a given name, so the officers gave her a fitting one: “Miracle.”
Miracle is still recovering at animal services, while Murphy has been charged with felony animal cruelty.
We’re so happy Miracle survived and is doing well. We hope she recovers and finds a better home soon! Share this miraculous story!
