We love stories where people save animals. When one poor dog was struggling for his life out in the ocean, a rescue team set out to save him—a dramatic rescue caught on camera.
In December, crew members of the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Fort Myers Beach, Florida were getting ready for their regular night patrol out on the waer, when they got a call unlike anything they had ever heard.
A dog was in the middle of the water, frantically swimming in distress, trying to stay afloat.
The team headed out to sea to rescue the dog. While this was he first case they had like this, they used their techniques for rescuing people from the water, and after pulling up alongside the dog they were able to pull him aboard.
Watch the rescue video below:
On board the Coast Guard vessel, the poor old dog was able to recover from his ordeal. The crew wrapped him up to get him dry and warm.
The dog was unharmed, and the crew took him back to land to reunite him with his family, but not before getting a photo together:
We’re so glad this dog is safe! Thank you to these rescuers for making such an impressive rescue!
