Christian Eiermann is a German tech entrepreneur living and working on the beautiful Indonesian island of Bali.
Noted for its gorgeous beaches, iconic rice paddies and volcanic mountains, the southeast Asian island is popular with tourists.
But although it looks and sounds like paradise it has a big problem with stray dogs; a problem that in 2000 authorities tried to solve but still today there is an estimated 150,000 to 160,000 stray dogs on the island.
Christian had already done his bit by rescuing one abandoned dog he found on a beach when he was led to another surprise by that very dog when he was out walking her one day, as reported by The Epoch Times.
Wet and whimpering
As he walked his dog near rice paddies his curious hound had other ideas and started to pull at her leash. She then dragged Christian to a spot where four newborn puppies were, whimpering and soaking wet as the fields were being irrigated.
“I’m not sure how the puppies got there but I’m relieved that I found them,” Eiermann told Newsflare.
The soaking wet puppies looked like they’d just been born and Christian knew he had to act fast if he was to save them. He posted videos of them and appealed for anyone with a pregnant dog that could help to feed them.
As newborns they needed the antibodies of the milk to help build their immune system and one of the puppies wouldn’t feed from a bottle.
Looking for loving homes
Thankfully, one of Christian’s friends had a Pomeranian mother, which they introduced the puppies to and “she accepted the puppies as if it were her own! She barks at everyone who comes near them”, he said.
Christian said he was sure the litter wouldn’t have survived if it wasn’t for this generous mother. Now they’ve grown stronger Christian is looking for permanent homes for them and hopes the media attention will help his cause.
Let’s hope this huge-hearted animal lover found new homes for these adorable puppies.
