Every year, over one million healthy dogs continue to be euthanized.
In the US, animal shelters overflow with dogs that nobody wants and they must eventually be killed to make room for new ones.
But there are success stories too.
When a man heard of a homeless and abandoned puppy that was set up for adoption, he decided to check her out.
He only needed to take one look at her face and after that he was in love – he signed the adoption papers immediately!
It was a beautiful dog, but the man couldn’t figure out what breed she was…
The man brought the fluffy stray home and named her Phoebe.
It soon became clear that this dog was a very charming and loving puppy with a great personality.
”My favorite activities include licking people’s toes, playing ball and playing with other young and highly active dogs! I am a self-admitted belly-rub addict, rolling over for every random passer-by. I also welcome ear scratches and chin rubs,” her owner writes.
But there was still a lot of questions about this dog. According to the owner, Phoebe came from pack of husky mixes who were roaming around wild.
But the owner never knew exactly what type of dog she was…
Then he got one look at her face and realized she was something special.
It was then Phoebe’s new family realized she was a Husky/Golden Retriever mix!
This breed is also known as the Goberian, a designer dog is a mix between the gentle Golden Retriever and the Siberian Husky.
Maybe you haven’t heard of if before – don’t feel outdated. Because this is a relatively new breed that has only popped up in the last decade, according to Animalso.
As Phoebe gets older and older, it’ll become more and more apparent. She’ll probably look a lot like this cute dog…
Here is another example of a Husky/Golden Retriever mix.
Not as fluffy as Phoebe, but look at those eyes! I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for a golden retriever husky mix at my local shelter.
Phoebe is a beautiful pup and I’m glad she found a home with lots of love!
Share her story if you think that every dog deserves a safe and caring home!
