Now that summer is long gone and the weather has been getting colder and colder, it’s important to keep an eye out for animals who might have been left outside to deal with the harsh winter weather conditions.
Recently, a good Samaritan was driving in Ontario, Canada on a cold night when they spotted something on the side of the snowy roadway. It was a dog and cuddled against the dog were five tiny kittens.
The good Samaritan rescued them all from the freezing cold night.
They brought the freezing animals to Pet and Wildlife Rescue to get them the help they needed. By the time rescuers saw the dog and five kittens, it was clear none of them wanted to leave each other.
If it wasn’t for the dog, the kittens would have died.
“It’s truly heartwarming!” a shelter spokesperson told The Dodo. “It had been a very cold night so these kittens would have had a very hard time surviving.”
According to The Dodo, the stray dog loves checking up on the progress of her adopted babies, who required treatment for fleas and worms.
No one knows much about the dog or kittens’ past, but one thing is for sure because of the good Samaritan they will all have a future, one that is hopefully spent together in a warm, loving home.
How sweet! If their owner doesn’t claim them, I hope someone adopts these all of these sweet animals.
