All dogs are beautiful in their own special way, but some aren’t as conventionally cute as others are… and sadly, that can keep them from finding good homes.
The unfortunate reality is that many people adopting dogs go for the ones they find “cute,” and shelters have said this keeps their “ugly” dogs from standing out.
That’s the case for one “funny looking husky” who is looking for a forever home with someone who can see how beautiful she really is.
Jubilee is a four-year-old husky in the care of Husky House in New Jersey. She was reportedly surrendered by a breeder who couldn’t sell her because she was “weird looking,” due to her unusual eyes:
But “weird looking” is definitely an exaggeration. Sure, Jubilee doesn’t look like your typical husky, and the eyes give her a fixed expression of wide-eyed surprise, but she’s still a beautiful dog.
But apparently her looks have kept her from finding a good home—and poor Jubilee is self-conscious. She’s been waiting since May 2018.
“Huskies are majestic looking dogs and I don’t know why I don’t look like them,” a Facebook post written in her voice reads.
“I wish I was beautiful so someone would want me to be their dog.”
But Husky House is trying hard to find her the right home. They know what a beautiful dog she is.
“We think she’s absolutely beautiful!” a spokesperson for Husky House, told The Dodo. “She’s a little shy at first, but if you offer her a treat she’s your best friend!”
“She’s a very sweet dog and loves people once she warms up.”
Husky House says that Jubilee can get along with other dogs, but not with cats. She’s up to date with her vaccinations.
There’s hope that someone out there will love Jubilee. A Facebook post about her went viral with nearly 40,000 shares, and people sent a lot of love for this unique husky, calling her beautiful.
“We are overwhelmed with the responses, love and support shown on her post,” Husky House told The Dodo. “We are so happy to see that everyone feels she is as special as we always knew she was!”
We think Jubilee is beautiful and we are so happy that she found a good home with someone who agrees!
